Governance
Clinical governance and quality
Being in good hands shouldn’t be something you have to check. Here’s how we make sure the care around you is safe, thorough and genuinely good, so that’s one more thing you don’t have to hold on your own.
Real clinicians, working within what they know
Everyone who looks after you is a qualified, registered professional, working within their area of expertise and to the standards their profession sets. You don’t need to work out who you need, or whether they’re the right person. That’s our job, and we take it seriously.
More than one mind on what matters
You’ll have someone who holds your care, but they’re never working alone. What you’re facing is thought about by a team, so the parts a single person might miss get seen. Body, mind, history and the people around you are considered together, because they were never really separate.
Led by evidence, shaped around you
Our assessments and the help we offer are grounded in current evidence and recognised national guidance. But you’re not a guideline. Good care means using that knowledge and then shaping it around you. We won’t promise a particular result. We will promise real rigour, and real attention to finding what actually helps.
Careful with the things that matter most
Keeping you safe is part of the everyday work, not an afterthought. We look at risk openly, act quickly when we’re worried, and are honest about our limits: we’re here for considered care, not emergencies.
If you need help right now
If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent help, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option, contact Samaritans free on 116 123, or text SHOUT to 85258.
When you need a specialist, we bring them in properly
Some of the care you might need, including psychiatry, is provided by independent specialists we work closely with. When that’s right for you, we don’t just hand you a name and step back. We refer to people we trust, share only what’s needed and only with your agreement, and stay involved, so it still feels like one team walking with you, not a handover into the unknown.
Nothing moves without you
Your care is yours. We ask before we act, and we’re especially careful at the moments that matter: moving from support at work into treatment, or any testing that looks at your biology, which we undertake only with your explicit consent. What you share stays confidential. And if your care is paid for by an employer or insurer, they never see what you talk about with us.
We keep checking our own work
We use recognised measures to understand whether people are actually being helped, look honestly at what we do, and treat feedback and complaints as something to learn from rather than defend against. Good care isn’t a claim you make once. It’s something you keep earning.
If something isn’t right, tell us
If any part of your care worries you, we want to hear it, and saying so will never change how you’re treated. Our complaints process explains what to do and what happens next. A concern about a specific clinician can also be raised with their professional body.
Care that holds you, end to end
That’s the quiet work behind everything we do, so that when you reach out, you can simply be looked after.
